Add, change, enable and disable frames in your catalog

The merchant catalog is a library of reusable product templates. Each template describes a physical offering, its editing area, production process, customer choices and commerce mapping. Customers make their own designs from those templates; they do not edit the template itself.

1. Make a separate template for a physical offering

In Personalizer, select the closest existing shape and choose Duplicate this template. Give the copy a clear name, such as Heart crystal 80 mm or Landscape walnut frame. A separate template is useful when a size, material, process or artwork area differs from another offering.

Select the Shape and enter Width, Height and Blank thickness / model depth in millimetres. Choose Target resolution and Safe margin with the person who prepares production files. The dimensions describe the actual item or artwork area you intend to sell; the preview is not a measuring tool.

2. Define the editing area and customer choices

Set Production type and Production machine. Give each engraving face a meaningful name, one per line, up to four faces. In this release each face uses the template dimensions; separate arbitrary face masks are not created by naming a face. Check each face in the customer editor after saving.

Set Maximum photos / artwork per face, then decide whether customers may upload their own photo/artwork and a material appearance reference. A material reference illustrates appearance only. Sell actual wood, metal, glass or other substrates through correctly priced and stocked products or variations.

Set message character and line limits. Use Finish & presentation options for a single selectable option and its surcharge. Amounts are in USD cents: 1200 means $12.00. Clear an option’s Available setting to stop offering it. These options do not maintain their own accessory inventory.

3. Add your backgrounds and stock artwork

In Customer artwork library, choose Choose frame backgrounds or Choose stock engraving artwork. Upload or select JPEG or PNG images in the media dialog, then confirm the selection. Transparent PNG works well for decorative artwork that should leave the customer photo visible around it.

Merchant controls for selecting frame backgrounds, stock artwork and an outer GLB model.
Choose the backgrounds, artwork and physical frame model offered by this product template.

Only selected images are offered for this template. Choose artwork you have permission to provide to customers and give each library item a useful name. Save the template and open the customer page to inspect how the artwork fits. A background image is an image layer; it does not automatically define a frame opening or a physical cutting path.

Choose product reference image adds a reference photograph of the item. Use it to show a real finish or product view. It does not create a new engraving mask or turn the photograph into 3D geometry.

4. Add your own outer frame or product model

Prepare a supported static GLB of the physical frame or outer product. In your modeling software, orient the front toward +Z and the top toward +Y. The full model bounds map to the template Width, Height and Blank thickness / model depth. Keep those dimensions consistent with the actual product, and check the exported model before uploading.

The outer GLB describes the frame itself. Its geometry can cover artwork; check the saved proof as well.

Use Upload outer product / frame GLB. After validation, the Outer product / frame model (GLB attachment ID) field is filled with its media attachment ID. Save the template, then open the customer editor to inspect it. You can reuse a validated attachment ID on another template when its shape and dimensions are appropriate. Choose Use built-in shape instead and save to return to the standard shape.

The outer model changes the visible product geometry; it does not detect a frame opening or change the saved artwork into an opening-shaped mask. The raster editing area still uses the full template dimensions. A frame front can cover artwork in the 3D view, so create a sample composition, orbit the result and compare it with the saved 2D proof. Use properly prepared transparent PNG artwork where transparency is needed, and confirm alignment before enabling the product.

Keep the outer frame model distinct from Stock 3D models. The outer model represents the physical product around the artwork. Stock models are customer choices placed inside a crystal or used as a 3D print model. Uploading the frame into the stock-artwork list would offer it in the wrong role.

5. Offer stock 3D artwork for model products

For a crystal or a 3D print model product, use Upload GLB model in Stock 3D models. Upload a supported self-contained model through this control so it is validated. Save the template, open the customer editor and choose the model to inspect it from several angles.

A 3D-print product starts from a model. Print supports, slicing and machine setup remain part of production.

A stock model offered here supplies artwork inside a crystal or the model for a 3D printed product. It is separate from the outer frame or crystal blank. Basic hearts, boxes and spheres provide starting choices. The model preparation guide explains the required GLB format and the difference between visual source geometry and a production file.

6. Enable, pause or replace a frame offering

To make the template available, select Offer this template in the editor and Save template. To remove it from new customer choices, clear that setting and save again. Check the published page after any cache purge needed for your setup. Enabling the template does not override missing stock, an unavailable machine or an invalid commerce connection.

Disabling an offering is useful while you repair a model, restock blanks or change a product. It does not erase approved historical work. Review existing orders before retiring or materially changing a product, and avoid deleting source media needed by your operating workflow.

After any significant template change, create a new customer design and approve a new proof. Do not assume that changing the merchant template silently updates a previously approved order snapshot.

7. Connect stock and reuse your setup

Map each physical shape, size and material to the correct stock-managed commerce product or variation. A stock image or GLB is reusable artwork; its library entry does not count the number of physical blanks on your shelf. Follow the product and stock walkthrough to complete this connection.

Export reusable templates for a configuration backup or another shop. Import creates inactive copies with new identifiers and clears product, variation and media assignments. Re-select the correct assets and commerce items, check dimensions, then enable the imported template. Template export is not a backup of customer designs or orders.
