Connect products, checkout and stock

Personalizer stores the customer design and its approved snapshot. Your selected commerce provider owns product prices, inventory, tax, shipping, payments and orders. This separation lets a heart crystal or a wooden frame remain a normal shop product with a personalized design attached.

Jump to a step

On this page: 1. Choose the commerce provider for the template · 2. Map an existing product or create a draft · 3. Track physical blanks by SKU or variation · 4. Check the displayed and checkout prices · 5. Test the whole ordering journey

1. Choose the commerce provider for the template

Open the reusable template and select WooCommerce or Help4 Commerce under Product, variation and inventory. The current adapters support USD. Check the connection message before enabling sales and configure your store currency, products and checkout in the commerce system.

WooCommerce simple products and mapped variations are supported. Help4 Builder can display the editor independently of native checkout. Native Help4 Commerce purchasing requires a compatible line-pricing integration; the sealed Builder 3.0.1 baseline does not provide that contract. If the native connection reports unavailable, use a configured WooCommerce checkout or contact Help4 for the compatible release. Do not modify a sealed Builder package to bypass that check.

2. Map an existing product or create a draft

For an existing shop product, choose it from Commerce product. If it has variations, choose the exact Size / material variation that matches this template. Confirm that the product name, SKU, physical dimensions and material all describe the item the customer will receive.

Merchant controls for selecting frame backgrounds, stock artwork and an outer GLB model.
Choose the backgrounds, artwork and physical frame model offered by this product template.

To start a new item, save the template first. Under Create a stock-managed product, enter the product name, a unique SKU, price in USD cents and available physical quantity, then choose Create draft product. The product begins as a draft and the template is disabled. Open the review link, complete shipping, taxes, images and any variations in your commerce provider, then publish the product and deliberately re-enable the template.

3. Track physical blanks by SKU or variation

Enable managed stock for the actual sellable item. Use separate products or variations when a heart blank, a rectangular blank, a different size or a different material draws from a different shelf quantity. Set any backorder rules in the commerce provider and confirm how your shop communicates lead time.

Each approved personalized copy becomes a separate cart line with quantity one. That lets a shopper order two items with different photographs. Do not mark the entire SKU Sold individually if you want that use case. The stock check considers the combined demand from separate personalized lines for the same stocked item.

Finish and presentation surcharges change the price but do not decrement separate accessory inventory. If a gift box or stand must have independent stock, plan its commerce fulfillment explicitly; a template option by itself is not a second inventory system.

4. Check the displayed and checkout prices

The template Base estimate uses USD cents and supports an unmapped design demo. A mapped product uses current commerce pricing. Customer choices can add the configured option surcharge. Verify the selected variation, sale price and option amount together using a fresh design.

Review the final cart and checkout totals, including taxes and delivery handled by the provider. If a price or product changes after approval, the customer may need to save and approve again. An approved proof must not be treated as a permanently guaranteed checkout price.

Which quoting tools are included for free?

Configured product and option quotes or estimates are included in the free core. The shop sets the product and option amounts; the connected commerce provider remains responsible for checkout totals, taxes and shipping. Supported pre-sliced filament files now produce free material-rate estimates, with merchant review before checkout. Cloud slicing, printer connections, production notifications and customer webcams belong to Pro.

5. Test the whole ordering journey

On staging, open the customer page, make a design, save it, review its proof and approve it. Add the approved design to the cart. Choose Personalize another copy and make a different design for the same SKU. Confirm that both personalized lines appear and that insufficient combined stock is handled correctly.

Use your payment gateway’s test mode to complete checkout, then inspect the order and its attached design. Check order emails, shipping and taxes using your own settings. Local plugin tests used simulated payment states; they do not verify your real gateway. Keep sales closed until you have checked your complete shop configuration.

Pre-sliced filament jobs

Customers with a prepared filament job can upload supported sliced files, choose the shop’s material and request a quote based on grams and selling price per kilogram. Merchants configure custom materials, a safety allowance, weight rounding, setup fees and minimum charges. The original file stays private for review and manual fulfillment. WordPress does not run a slicer.

Your equipment, a print partner, or both

The free Fulfillment workspace lets you assign products to your own shop, an outside provider, or choose a destination for each reviewed order. Printful, Printify and Gelato product references can be organized for print-on-demand planning; custom manufacturers can be recorded for separately agreed 3D printing and engraving jobs. WooCommerce orders keep local routing drafts and their review history. Provider account connections and automatic external ordering are still in development.
