Register machines and control order availability

A machine entry tells the shop which equipment is intended to fulfil a product. The current registry is manual: your team chooses the status and whether new orders are accepted. Saving an entry does not connect hardware, read telemetry or send a job.

On this page: 1. Add the machine you actually own · 2. Record the usable dimensions · 3. Set availability deliberately · 4. Assign the machine to a product template · 5. Keep staff and customers aligned

1. Add the machine you actually own

Open Personalizer and find Your production machines. Add a machine, give it a name your staff will recognize, and select the closest matching catalog profile. Use separate entries for different machines or installed modules when their supported production processes differ.

Check the profile documentation against the physical equipment. A filament printer and a laser attachment are different capabilities, even when they share a product family. Selecting a profile does not certify material compatibility or install a manufacturer driver.

2. Record the usable dimensions

Enter the optional X, Y and Z work dimensions in millimetres using limits you have verified for your intended workflow. Zero means unknown. The template check compares its dimensions to nonzero limits in the selected orientation; it does not automatically rotate a product to make it fit.

Keep exterior blank size, internal engraving volume and machine travel limits distinct. For example, a manufacturer may describe a small internal crystal engraving area while allowing a larger exterior blank. Confirm which limit applies before entering the template dimensions or accepting that product.

3. Set availability deliberately

Select Enable this machine for product assignment when the machine should be usable by templates. Set Current manual status to Ready, Busy, Maintenance or Offline so staff can communicate its state. Add a production note if useful, such as the material or preparation step your team should check.

Accept new production orders is a separate control. A busy machine can accept work for a later queue if you leave it enabled. Changing the status label alone is not the way to close ordering. Clear the acceptance checkbox whenever the shop should stop taking new work for this machine, then save.

4. Assign the machine to a product template

Return to the reusable template, choose its Production type, then select its Production machine. Save the template. An incompatible process or a product that exceeds a configured limit must be corrected; choosing a larger number without verifying the physical setup is not a solution.

Use View product to turn the object, or choose Move, Rotate and Size to arrange selected artwork directly in the 3D studio.

Open the customer editor and read the current availability message. A template also needs an enabled offering, valid commerce mapping, supported currency and an available physical product before checkout can work. The server checks availability again when the customer orders, so a saved design does not reserve a machine.

5. Keep staff and customers aligned

If you replace a machine, change its profile or alter the product process, have the customer save and approve a fresh design when prompted. Approved production records keep the machine identity associated with that approval. Review existing orders separately when equipment becomes unavailable.

Cloud slicing, printer connections, production notifications and customer webcams belong to Pro. The restricted Help4WordPress preview supports merchant-confirmed paid runs and updating JPEG snapshots after owner and camera setup. Production still uses your manufacturer software and staff-controlled steps. Direct drivers, automatic dispatch and instant production remain future work.

About the restricted Pro connection preview

Cloud slicing, printer connections, production notifications and customer webcams belong to Pro. Help4WordPress offers a restricted cloud-slicing preview on the filament demo. Camera viewing has its own owner setup and remains off until a camera is paired. Direct manufacturer integrations are coming soon.

After setup, a signed-in purchasing customer can view updating camera snapshots for an eligible paid order while staff run the machine. The preview does not capture a camera itself, stream continuous video, report machine telemetry or send production commands. The owner can turn it off centrally.
